Get ready to race, celebrate, and party under the lights at Palisades Tahoe for SNOWFEST Night, part of the Palisades Tahoe Town League Race Series! Local skiers and snowboarders of all levels are invited to hit the gates, show their skills, and enjoy some friendly community competition.

This high-energy series runs every Wednesday night through the spring, each week with a new theme — but it all kicks off in true Tahoe style with SNOWFEST Night. After racing, head to the KT Deck for music, DJs, and après-ski fun that keeps the vibe going long after the last run.

Whether you’re racing for glory or cheering from the deck, this event captures the spirit of Tahoe’s ski culture — community, camaraderie, and good times on snow.

Race registration and full event details are available at palisadestahoe.com.

Join us for the kick off of the Palisades Tahoe Town League Race Series on March, 5, 2025, where local racers of all levels come together to compete in a series of exciting alpine races. This community competition is perfect for skiers and snowboarders looking to challenge themselves and showcase their skills. SNOWFEST Snomo Skijoring w/ Daron Rahlves

Hold onto your helmets, Tahoe SNOWFEST. is leveling up the winter stoke with the debut of the SNOWFEST Snomo Skijoring Competition! Watch (or join!) as teams of two take on a high-octane course packed with gates, jumps, and tight turns, all while a skier is towed at speed behind a roaring snowmobile.

Set on the snowy fairways of the Tahoe City Golf Course, this brand-new event fuses the roots of classic horse-drawn skijoring with the full-throttle energy of Alaska’s legendary Arctic Man. Race Director Daron Rahlves (Red Bull) and MC Steven Siig (Tahoe Art Haus) bring the hype as competitors send it for prizes, bragging rights, and pure Tahoe glory.

Spectators can line the course behind the Cobblestone Center, EVO Lodge, and Pete ’n Peters—prime viewing spots to catch every carve, jump, and powerslide. Whether you’re racing or cheering, this is pure SNOWFEST. energy: community, adrenaline, and winter fun at full throttle.

Teams of 2 will race in a course with Gates, Jumps and Turns pulled by a Snowmobile. Fusing Classic Ski Jouring (usually with horses) with “Arctic Man” (Alaska Ski/Snowmobile endurance race) style track. Utilizing the 1st and 3rd fairways (not on the Tees or Greens) at TCGC.

Competitors compete for prizes and overall bragging rights!

Course and scoring:

Teams race against the clock on a timed course with Jumps and Gates. Time penalties are added for penalties like missed gates or dropped rings.

 Penalties

  •  Time penalties: These are added to the team's total time.

  •  Missing a gate: +2 seconds

  •  Missing or dropping a ring: +2 seconds per ring

  •  Disqualification: • Unsafe behavior, as determined by race officials

  • More details forthcoming

Competition variations

Divisions: Race Director will categorize competitors by skill level (Open, Sport, Novice) or division (Youth, Women's, Snowboarder, Couples) dependent on entries.

Protests: “A no protest" policy, where the decisions of the course director, referee and finish line judges are final.

More information after the New Year.
